LIVERPOOL VS BORUSSIA DORTMUND

| Friday, July 19th |
Pre-Season | Notre Dame Stadium
8:00PM EST/1:00AM BST

It should be an enthusiastic crowd to witness Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund meet at Notre Dame on Friday night. Pre-season matches always have a warm and, well, friendly vibe going on but these two clubs have a friendship that has only grown since Jürgen Klopp took over at Liverpool. What I’m saying is, there could be songs. There most certainly will be flags.

Dortmund have started their pre-season strongly with a big win back in Germany followed by a 3-1 victory over the Seattle Sounders this week. Manager Lucien Favre has quite a few star players in his ranks in the U.S. Everyone’s favorite Marco, Marco Reus, will be suited up. The young but blossoming Englishman Jadon Sancho, Mats Hummels and Mario Götze will all be there, too, along with new recruits Julian Brandt and Thorgan “Don’t Call Him Eden’s Brother” Hazard.

Klopp is without a whole slew of first team players on the tour. Sadio Mané just finished with AFCON, losing the final to Algeria. He may miss the start of the season, incidentally.

But plenty of winning faces have made the journey to America with Klopp. And while the air will be hot and sticky and terrible for generally being outside in, the match has entertainment potential.

More good things from Rhian Brewster would be nice but no pressure. Same for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. And, of course, it’s always nice to see the young players get a chance to make an impression on their manager. But, let’s bag another win and keep the good feelings going.
