All eyes and ears this week has been focused on whether or not Liverpool are signing Nicolas Pepe, with dueling reports coming seemingly every other hour. But, there’s a current Liverpool winger who might actually transfer away from the club soon. Steven Gerrard has come out to the press with strong interest in Ryan Kent and wants to bring the winger back to Scotland, perhaps on a permanent deal.
“Yes we would like Ryan back but the reality is he’s Liverpool’s player so we have to respect that.” Gerrard said. ”Jurgen Klopp I’m sure will want to take a look at Ryan but we are at the table.
“We love the player, we felt we did a good job with him for 12 months and feel there’s more to come on the job we’d like to do with him.
“We’re progressing in terms of our targets and the squad is close to being finished - but we’re not finished just yet.”
Ryan Kent spent last season with Gerrard at Rangers, having an okay season. He obviously doesn’t have a future with Liverpool and as much of a connection to the club Gerrard has, Liverpool could be trying to sell him for more than Rangers are willing to offer.
