The Nabil Fekir saga of the 2018 summer transfer window left most Liverpool supporters disappointed, and how could you blame them? Liverpool had crossed the t’s and dotted the i’s on a bonafide 4th attacking option for the vaunted Front Three, and a player that undoubtably would enter his prime while at Liverpool. Until the medical came back and showed his knees were made of string cheese. Liverpool obviously balked at the agreed price and the rest is history.
Well, it’s the summer of 2019 and Nabil Fekir is still a Lyon player. At least for a little while longer. Infamous Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed to Lyon’s team website that Fekir would like to leave this summer.
“His preference is towards a departure.,” Aulas said. “We are open to discussions. We have no news. We are waiting for proposals in the coming days but for the moment, we do not have any.”
There were tentative links this summer that Liverpool’s interest would come up again, but I highly doubt they’ll be back in for the French international. I guess only time will tell.
