There will be a day when I’m ready to stop talking about winning the Champions League for a sixth time, and move on to the new season. That day is not today.
The club, for their part, is not helping matters, by milking every second of Champions League footage as well as the ensuing celebrations for more and more daily content.
Whatever. I’m here for it, and so are you. And I was definitely quick to drop whatever I was doing to watch a full six minutes (ish) of uncut post final whistle celebrations from Jürgen Klopp and company.
If you want to feel all the feels, just skip right to the 1:39 mark to watch captain Jordan Henderson, Kloppo, and Andy Robertson share a teary-eyed hug to end all Klopp hugs.
On the subject of Klopp hugs, they ranged from the standard to the extreme, with both Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker lifting the manager. Do you think those two towering centerpieces of Europe’s best defense regret their moves to Merseyside? Probably not.
Also of note is Klopp specifically finding both Jan Vertonghen and Heung-min Son for long hugs, clearly working his charm to keep any possibilities open.
