BARCELONA VS LIVERPOOL

| Wednesday, May 1st |
Champions League | Camp Nou
8PM BST/3PM EDT

Champions League semifinal. After years in the wilderness (and two glorious years out of it), I don’t think I’ll get sick of saying that anytime soon. Liverpool can only do so much to influence their fate in the Premier League, but in the Champions League their fate is in their own hands. Standing in their way? A Barcelona squad headed by the greatest player of all time. It won’t be an easy task for Jurgen Klopp’s men, but if they can get anything out of this match, they’ll like their chances on the return leg in front of a rabid Anfield crowd. Although the Reds had poor away results in the Group Stages, they’ve come to life in the knock-outs, recording 3-1 and 4-1 wins over Bayern and Porto, respectively. A similar performance would put them in a very strong position to book their ticket to a third European final in four years.
