He’s scoring for fun at the moment but long may that continue – that he keeps scoring and all of us can pitch in as well and we have a good run-in. We have seven games left now and we look forward to it.

Sadio Mané continued his goal scoring ways against Fulham on Sunday when he put Liverpool ahead in the 26th minute in a match the Reds would go on to win by two goals to one. Yesterday’s goal marked Mané’s 20th of the season in all competitions for Liverpool and brought his Premier League tally to 17, which means he is now in second on the list of top goalscorers this season. He holds that spot along with Mohamed Salah, Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Tottenham’s Harry Kane. Manchester City’s hat trick king Sergio Aguero is in the top sport with one ahead of the pack (18 goals), whilst he and Mané have both scored nine goals and are the League’s top scorers for 2019 thus far.

Mané has also scored his way into the record books after setting a new record for most goals in a single Premier League season by a Senegalese player, breaking the record previously held by Demba Ba who scored 16 in the 2011-12 season for Newcastle. Liverpool’s number 10 has now scored 11 goals in 11 games and nine of those goals have helped Liverpool extend their unbeaten run to 10 PL games since their only league loss this season on 3 January 2019 when they were beaten by title rivals Manchester City.

Jamie Carragher who was on commentary duties for Sky Sports on Sunday exclaimed that the 26 year old winger was ”not just the form man in the Premier League, but the form man in Europe”. Mané’s stellar form has also placed him back in the latest Real Madrid transfer rumours doing the rounds. Whether these turn out to be true or not, one thing is certain and that is that Sadio Mané is integral to Liverpool’s challenge for the Premier League title.

That pesky thing otherwise known as the international break is back and that means that we have to wait a painfully long time for Liverpool’s next game...
The Premier League returns on 30 March 2019 with Liverpool playing host to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 31 March 2019 at 4H30PM BST / 12H30PM EST. Be sure to check your local listings for time and availability.
