Firmino Injury Update: We’re Still Waiting

Everything hurts.

The less we say about the ninety minutes Liverpool played this weekend, the better. Unfortunately, there are plenty of things that happened during the game that we still need to discuss, chief of which is the horror that was Roberto Firmino hobbling off at the 31st minute.

The good news here (if we can call it that) is that in a game of injuries, Liverpool only saw the one. The bad news is: it was Firmino that got injured.

“Everyone was like ‘be careful’, then it happened to us with Bobby, which was a catastrophe for us as well,” Klopp said in his post-match conference. ”We only had one [injury] at least, hopefully it’s not serious.”

Firmino’s injury was related to his ankle, but Klopp was unable to give us anything more about how long the Brazilian international will be out for.

“Unfortunately, I have no clue,” he said. “Bobby said at first he could carry on but then he showed it didn’t work. I don’t know exactly; it is Bobby, so it will be quicker than with all the others but first we have to know what it is exactly – and we don’t know at the moment.”

So there’s that. A lack of Firmino is a pretty bad loss for Liverpool, especially as we try to maintain the one point lead we’re currently clinging on to. Hopefully, the injury isn’t terrible at all and everything will stop hurting before Wednesday.
