Manchester United arrived at their team hotel on Saturday night, and thanks to the MEN (Manchester Evening News), we got a glimpse of who might suit up for United against Liverpool.
The most surprising inclusion might be Jesse Lingard. The wide forward has experienced a rich vein of form under new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but came off injured in the first leg of the Champions League tie between United and Paris St. Germain. Anthony Martial also came off injured in the same tie, and was not present in the photographs.
Nemanja Matic was not pictured among the 20 players who arrived at the team hotel, and is no doubt the most surprising absence for the Red Devils. Matic has been a consistent starter for United this year, and no injury has been reported as of late. He is United’s only out-and-out defensive midfielder and will undoubtably be a big miss for United if he indeed is not with the team.
The United squad that showed up at the hotel is as followed: David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Lee Grant, Diogo Dalot, Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Ashley Young, Fred, Scott McTominay, Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba, Andreas Pereira, Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, and Romelu Lukaku.
