Even when things are going well — extraordinarily well, historically well — they still aren’t perfect for Liverpool. The problem at the moment comes from what’s on the verge of being an injury crisis at centre-back.

The senior Reds have traveled to Qatar for the FIFA Club World Cup, but they’ve done so without Dejan Lovren, who is out of the team indefinitely at the moment. That leaves only Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez to partner together for the foreseeable future as Lovren, along with Joel Matip and Fabinho remain sidelined.

Lovren took to Instagram to wish his teammates luck in their two matches happening over the next two days and remain positive about his own treatment.

Not the best time to be injured, but as u know me I will be back again stronger. Hard work begins behind the scenes so I can be asap on the pitch. In the meantime I wish my teammates and @liverpoolfc all the luck at the club world cup. Boys come back with another #ynwa

The Club World Cup semi-final is on Wednesday, but first things first, today the kids will be taking on Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup quarter-final. It’s busy days in the Liverpool camp, so Lovren better do his brates a favor and get better soon.
