Obviously everyone was over the moon this week when Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp announced that he had signed a new extension to keep him with the club through at least 2024. One of the people most excited about the extension is Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“He has showed he is a world-class manager, if not the best in the world,” the full-back told Liverpoolfc.com. “He has done special things for the club and obviously the fans all love him.
“He fits perfectly. He has brought players in, he has moulded players into world-class players.
“We’re grateful to have a manager like him and obviously the more years he can spend here, the better it is for the club. So it’s really good for us to get a few more years out of him.”
Trent also talked about the Watford match.
“Obviously we made it harder than we wanted to,” Trent said. “It was a tight game, obviously they wanted to impress their new gaffer so they were always going to come and fight for every ball.”
“It was a difficult game, we knew it was going to be, but three points at the end of the day – it didn’t matter what scoreline it was going to be, we just wanted the three points.”
The Liverpool right back also talked about heading to Qatar this week.
“We want to win, that’s the main thing,” said Alexander-Arnold of the Club World Cup trophy. “We’ll go out there and look to keep our momentum and look to win another trophy, which is what we want to do. We want to be classed as a world-class team.
“We’ll be going out there to win, that’s the main thing for us. Hopefully we go out there, get two wins and come back with the trophy.”
Liverpool will face Mexican side Monterrey on Wednesday.
