Things aren’t going that well for Huddersfield Town down in the Championship after they suffered relegation from the Premier League last season. They’re just above the relegation zone through 22 matches. Kamil Grabara, who is on loan from Liverpool, contributed to their misery yesterday with a bit of a howler against Wigan Athletic.
As you can see from the clip, Grabara attempts to play the ball out of the back but plays it right into the path of Wigan’s Josh Windass, who then slots the ball home. Not a great moment for the young keeper, but he’s in the Championship to learn.
Huddersfield Town manager Danny Cowley shared that sentiment with the Daily Examiner.
“Kamil is a young boy, he’s going to make mistakes, young goalkeepers do.” The Terriers boss said after the game. “He’ll learn from it because he’s going to be a top goalkeeper. If he didn’t make those mistakes he’d be in and around Liverpool’s team, wouldn’t he.”
“Liverpool have rightly sent him here to make those mistakes and he’ll be better for it.”
Huddersfield would go on to score in the second half to draw the match 1-1. They sit in 19th place with 22 points through 22 games.
