Sadio Mane's Opener Nominated for Champions League Goal of the Week

No love for Andy Robertson? Cops. UEFA are cops.

What a time to be alive and supporting these Reds. Last night alone, you got to watch a spectacular opening goal from Sadio Mane against his old team, RB Salzburg. And then you saw the Champions League at its maddest and best, under the Anfield lights. Glorious.

The goal was the result of Sadio's sublime individual effort, as well as impressive link-up play, beginning with Virgil van Dijk, then to Andy Robertson, and finally culminating with a perfectly executed 1-2 with Roberto Firmino at the edge of the area.

UEFA singled the goal out for Champions League Goal of the Week honors. It is competing against some real gems: Ziyach's impossibly long left-footed curler for Ajax, Kimmich's effort from range for Bayern, and Suarez doing non-bitey Suarez things with a phenomenal volley for Barcelona.

Of course, UEFA, in all of their wisdom, overlooked two great goals from Andy Robertson and RB Salzburg's Takumi Minamino, respectively. Robertson's effort, in particular has garnered just about all the attention from Kopites, though we are, admittedly, biased. We love Robbo, and so should you, UEFA.

Anyway, you can do your patriotic duties to Liverpool Country, and vote on the best goal here.
