LIVERPOOL VS CHELSEA

| Wednesday, September 26th |
League Cup | Anfield
7:45PM BST/2:45PM EDT

Oh, hi there League Cup. In recent years gone by, a home tie against Chelsea in the League Cup would have been welcomed. This year? It’s easily the least important match we have had or will have this month. And because the football gods are funny, they had us play Chelsea twice in the same week, just as we did with Leicester City for this round last year. Like last year, most Liverpool fans would gladly trade a loss in the League Cup for a win over Chelsea on Saturday. So too, presumably, would Jurgen Klopp, which is why heavy changes are expected this evening. But since we can’t trade a loss today for a win tomorrow, I guess it’s a match and we should try to maybe win it?
