Fresh off their rebrand from Liverpool Ladies, the Liverpool Women announced their fixtures for the upcoming 2018-2019 season, including cup and league fixtures. Get excited, because football is about to truly come home.
(I’m not sorry for that joke).
The Red Women start the season off with a Continental Tyres Cup match against newly minted Manchester United Women on August 19th. Liverpool previously faced Casey Stoney’s women in a closed door friendly earlier this summer, so this will be the first time they play for real stakes against half of their former team.
The season well and truly starts with a trip to Arsenal on September 9th and will end on May 12th with a Merseyside Derby at home, wherever that home may be. There’s also notable meetings with a trip to Chelsea on October 28th before coming home to meet Manchester City on November 4th.
The home stadium is still be decided this season, with hopes that the Women can continue to call Select Security Stadium home. They finished their season at Prenton Park last year, home of Tranmere Rovers, but there’s no updates regarding where they might continue to play.
