CHESTER FC VS LIVERPOOL FC

| Saturday, July 7th |
Pre-Season | Swansway Chester Stadium
3:00PM BST/10:00AM EST

Are you sick of this silly World Cup lark and ready to see some real football? Or at least the pre-season stuff that comes before the real football? Well, the wait is over as Liverpool kick off their pre-season with a friendly against National League North club Chester FC. Many important cogs in the machine will be unavailable to play, with the likes of Dejan Lovren, Jordan Henderson, Roberto Firmino, and Trent Alexander-Arnold in Russia, Mo Salah and Sadio Mané still on break, and Adam Lallana and Joël Matip not deemed match fit.

Who do we have ready from last year’s side? There’s Gini Wijnaldum, Virgil van Dijk, James Milner, Andy Robertson, and Loris Karius, to name a few.

But preseason is always about a chance to see the new boys and youngsters anyway, and there will be plenty of those to interest Liverpool fans. Klopp has promised that Fabinho and Naby Keïta would both get some action in this match. The young guns who will get a chance include Harry Wilson and Sheyi Ojo, among others. Daniel Sturridge, Lazar Markovic, and Divock Origi may well being playing some of their final games in a Liverpool shirt (though how many times has that been said about Markovic?).

It will be fun to see the boys stretch their legs in this series of local games before they head across the pond to the U.S. for the bulk of their preseason.
