It’s been a pre-season full of goals, surprises, and fun football so far, and the Reds’ Stateside jaunt ended with a resounding victory over Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United. Mourinho, in typical Mourinho fashion, wasn’t too pleased with that outcome and spent the entirety of his post-match interview grousing about what went wrong for United (pretty much everything), and how expensive the matches were for how little he was entertained by them.
It’s always difficult to be a fan when an ocean separates you from the centre of your fandom, and little things like the manager of your team telling you that you shouldn’t really be spending your money to watch your team when they’re finally on the same landmass as you can’t help.
Luckily, we’re not United.
Instead, we have the kind of boss who decides to surprise Jamie Webster and everyone else at a bar in Michigan and join in a rendition of ‘Allez, Allez, Allez’.
It’s a good reminder of everything we love about this team.
