Although the final scoreline quite flattered Roma, and the last few minutes were nervier than need be, Sadio Mane played a big part in making sure Liverpool were safely(ish) through to the Champions League Final for most of the tie.
Mane started the scoring off in the 9th minute, helping the Reds to a halftime 4-goal aggregate lead (and boy, did we sure need ALL of those 4 goals). Unlike his wild misses last week, he was clinical this time around, putting both of his attempts on target, scoring the opener and forcing Roma keeper Alisson to make a quick near post save.
He and his left-side compatriot Andy Robertson provided an outlet all night with smart counterattacks at pace to keep Roma on their toes.
However, Mane is up against Keylor Navas (who hopefully will not have a stand-on-his-head performance in Kiev like he did at the Bernabeu) for the honor. Navas made 6 saves, keeping a desperate Bayern Munich at bay, and helping his side advance to a third consecutive final.
