With an astounding 43 goals in as many of games since moving to Liverpool last summer, Mohamed Salah has emphatically established himself as his team’s talisman in record-breaking fashion. A two-goal, two-assist performance in a breathtaking 5-2 Champions League semifinal win over Roma a week ago has been typical of the Egyptian’s dynamism at the heart of the continent’s most feared attack.
However, while the goal-hungry striker has been the inspiration for many a Red victory on the season, a rapidly-improving defense, tireless midfield and a mind meld of an attacking force has revealed the genius of Jürgen Klopp’s balanced side to be the true heroes, each player looking to pick up the slack when another is having an off day.
The principle would appear to apply off the pitch as well as on, as James Milner cheekily alluded to in a recent social media post. The 32-year-old was the first to congratulate Salah on Twitter after his teammate recently added an award for making the PFA Team of the Year to add his Player of the Year gong.
Nice for us to carry @MoSalah for a change - congrats on making the @pfa team of year pic.twitter.com/ZEzCh8IVcm

Though a relative newcomer to social media since joining Twitter a few weeks ago, James Milner has been anything but boring as he’s taken to the internet waters like a fish. His posts have included a mix of the self-deprecating, the captain-type supportive and has even been known to bring the bantz on occasion.
Packing almost complete for Rome, just need to dig out my Italian phrase book and hot water bottle. What a find the LFC branded plug adapter was! #incrediblescenes #essentials #willuseHendostoothpaste pic.twitter.com/UIIS5ejOs5

The Champions League record assist maker will be hoping to continue serving up his free-scoring teammate as the Reds head to Rome on Wednesday to try secure the club’s first appearance in the final since Athens..
