LIVERPOOL vs. ROMA

| Tuesday, April 24th |
Champions League | ANFIELD
7:45PM GMT/2:45PM EST

Close enough to a Champions League final to taste it, but Liverpool face a very different task than in the quarterfinals, both psychologically, and stylistically. If Liverpool have made their marks on the competition so far with their high-flying, high-scoring style, Roma instead have been survivors. And considering the teams they’ve thus far bested: Chelsea and Atletico Madrid in the group stage, and Shakhtar Donetsk and Barcelona in the knock-outs, they will certainly be ready for everything Liverpool have to offer. Against Manchester City, Liverpool were able to play with the freedom only afforded to underdogs with nothing to lose; the Reds will not have such a luxury this time out. And as much as the home crowd will be urging Klopp’s men forward, some caution will be needed, considering Roma’s impressive knack for advancing on away goals in the previous two rounds.

FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS

35’ - Salah - A brilliant curling effort from Salah into the top corner. What a shot. What a goal. And, despite a few shaky moments, more than deserved on the run of play.

45’ - Salah - It’s that man again as Liverpool go from defensive clearance to goal in seconds and Salah chips it brilliantly over a charging Alisson.

SECOND HALF HIGHLIGHTS

56’ - Mané - This time Salah sets one up, beating the offside trap and squaring to Mané, who missed a handful of early chances but makes good to put Liverpool three up.

61’ - Firmino - Now Bob gets his and it’s only what he deserves for his world class outing. And it’s another assist for Salah. What a performance by the Reds.

68’ - Firmino - And another. This time off a corner. I can’t even.
