SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH
St. Mary’s Stadium has become something of an academy-slash-rivalry ground in the past few years. Liverpool have picked up a player or two from the Saints almost every year going back to the Brendan Rodgers days. Most recently Virgil van Dijk joined at the start of the new year and will probably be the recipient of the majority of the acrimonious chants and boos from the Southampton fans. Liverpool will be looking to get 3 points after the infuriating draw against Tottenham last weekend, thus keeping them in the top four, while Southampton will be looking to make up for the loss they suffered at Anfield. Naturally. So it goes. Mo Salah scored a brace the last time and his form has definitely not suffered in the months since that visit, nor have the Saints gotten much better. But don’t ever count them out.
