November was a great month for Liverpool’s number 26.

Andy Robertson played an integral role in Liverpool’s two clean sheet wins in the Premier League – against Fulham in a 2 – 0 win at Anfield on 11 November 2018 and 3 – 0 at Vicarage Road against Watford on 24 November 2018 – and he added another fantastic assist to his tally after his brilliant cross led to Shaqiri’s goal against the Cottagers.

Robbo now has the most assists for the Reds this season with five; three in the League and two in the Champions League. It’s certainly no surprise that the 24 year old Andy is making an impact on Liverpool maintaining clean sheets or that he has the most assists so far this season given his outlook on where his strength is and what he contributes to the team. This is what he had to say after almost getting a goal during the Fulham game;

I thought to just get a clean contact – the ‘keeper has made a good save. I think I could have done better with it. Hopefully it’s coming but I’m happy to hopefully keep giving assists and clean sheets, that’s my bread and butter. I love assisting because it’s a lot more natural to me than scoring. If I can help the team by putting a cross in for Shaq – and he made a great finish – it’s always nice to get an assist and contribute going forward. We have had a lot of clean sheets this season and we need to keep doing that because if we get a clean sheet, that’s half the battle to win the game.

The Scotland international captain has been immense for LFC in the past year. Robbo was given an opportunity to shine after Alberto Moreno’s was side-lined due to injury and since then (December 2017) he has started 43 out of 57 matches, and according to Jürgen Klopp, there’s much more to come from Andy;

I don’t compare seasons, to be honest, but I’ve known Robbo now for one-and-a-half years and I feel that he’s at 75 per cent – maybe less – of what he can do. There’s a lot of potential still. But it’s all good. He improved a lot but there is still a lot to come, he is still a young fella. There’s enough time for that. It’s normal that he expects more from himself and I expect more because it’s obvious there is still a lot to come.

And I fully agree with you on that Jürgen!

Andy Robertson’s fellow Premier League nominees are: Felipe Anderson, Lucas Digne, Leroy Sane, David Silva, Moussa Sissoko and Raheem Sterling. Be sure to ensure that Andy is named the November winner by casting your vote and be sure to check out his five Liverpool assists too.
