Ready for another cup competition to start? It’s nearly the new year, which means that the FA Cup is set to kick-off. Monday evening’s draw saw Liverpool set against fellow Premier League team Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The game will be played over the weekend of January 5-6th, 2019, and the Reds will travel to Molineux Stadium for the match. Coming on the other side of the festive season, it will be interesting to see which players Klopp entrusts with getting the team over the line in this game.

This continues this season’s trend of Liverpool getting difficult draws for their cup competitions. First they were doomed to the group of death in the Champions League alongside PSG and Napoli, thanks to their pot three ranking for the draw. Then they made an early exit from the League Cup in the fall when they lost 2-1 to Chelsea.

Wolves aren’t Chelsea, but they’ll provide a more significant challenge than, for example, Rotherham, the team traveling to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City, or Nottingham Forest, who Chelsea will host.
