Earlier this week it had been widely reported that Ovie Ejaria wasn’t enjoying his time in Scotland. Mainly, the 21 year old midfielder didn’t enjoy the physical nature of the Scottish Premiership. Those reports were validated today when Liverpool, Rangers, and the midfielder agreed to terminate his loan early and have him come back to Liverpool.

Ejaria had made 28 appearances in all competitions for the Steven Gerrard led Scottish side, scoring just two goals. 11 of the 28 appearances came in the Europa league. He scored against FC Ufa in August.

Rangers released the following statement: “Rangers and Liverpool have agreed to terminate Ovie Ejaria’s Ibrox loan period. Ovie will be returning to Liverpool immediately. The midfield player has not settled in Scotland and wishes to continue his career back with his parent club. Rangers thanks him for his commitment and efforts. Everyone at the club wishes him well for his future. Rangers also thanks Liverpool for their assistance.”

It’s uncertain if Ejaria will go out on loan again in January.
