  • Pre-Match Thought: My only pre-match thought is that Emre Can is finally captain so everyone saying he should have it over Hendo should enjoy this moment because it’s now made clear that the captaincy means nothing to Klopp and he’ll give it to whoever.
  • And we’re off! Bit of a slow start for the Reds which isn’t usually a good sign from them but it’s just the beginning. There’s time for them to rev up and get going.
  • Almost! A dodgy save from Fabianski prevents Mane from getting the scoring started for the Reds around 8 minutes in.
  • Yikes - Swansea have a goal disallowed as the ball went out before being recovered by Jordan Ayew and then crossed into the box in the confusion.
  • It’s gonna be one of those games, isn’t it. We’ll be lucky to get out of here with a goal.
  • There’s a lot of just moving the ball around and with only two shots on Liverpool’s side, you can imagine how it’s going.
  • NEARLY. A couple of errors in the box led to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain being able to pick up the ball and send a great shot but right into Fabianski’s arms.
  • We just need one, Reds. One to open up this game. Just. One.
  • THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEANT. Swansea score off a corner at 40 minutes with Alfie Mawson picking up the second ball from a poor header.
  • Liverpool are getting a little desperate in these last five minutes before the half, with Andy Robertson and Joel Matip both picking up yellows for rash challenges.
  • Halftime: Not a great half for the Reds and trailing a goal isn’t how anyone wanted to end this half. Lots of missed shots and disappointing challenges. Adam Lallana is on the bench though and could come on later to add some more movement to a game that desperately needs it.
  • We’re back and no changes and oh look Bobby being wild and we’re lucky that wasn’t a penalty with him kneeing a Swansea player in the ribs right in front of their ‘keeper.
  • This game is so terrible I just got up and made a bowl of cereal.
  • Every time the commentator says Clucas I get sad. YOU KNOW WHY.
  • Oh look, a free kick for Liverpool twenty yards from the keeper. Salah takes it and Fabianski just BARELY tips it over the bar, otherwise it would’ve been a perfect equalizer.
  • There’s finally a change - Adam Lallana comes on for Chambo at the 68th minute. Surprising to take off Chambo, who has been doing well today.
  • OH LOOK A LALLANA TURN that ends up in nothing when Emre Can passes too heavily and the ball gets taken away by a Swansea player. Great.
  • A WILD DANNY INGS APPEARS, COMING ON FOR WIJNALDUM.
  • I’ll take a draw at this point. I really would.
  • Ings with a shot unfortunately saved. He very nearly equalized but story of the match, am I right?
  • Liverpool are finally pressing in a decent sort of way but it’s looking too little too late.
  • Final Whistle: Not great, Liverpool. Not great. Can’t believe we let this happen. We’re better than this, aren’t we? We beat them 5-0 not even a month ago!
