We are finally, finally back from the first and worst international break of the season. Liverpool hope to continue their excellent run of form against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City this afternoon. When last we saw them, Klopp’s men were running rampant over an abject Arsenal side. Manchester City will be a much sterner test, though one that Liverpool have been up to in the past. Last season’s match at the Etihad was truly one to remember, though the score ended 1-1. With any luck, today’s game will be another belter, but with a scoreline more favorable to the Reds. Philippe Coutinho will not be featuring for Klopp’s side, but new signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will likely make the bench. This is the first of seven games that Liverpool will play between now and 1 October, so buckle up, kids.
