So, it finally came to pass. Liverpool have won a game after the international break, but the affair was one to fray nerves and rattle the most composed souls among us. It was also Jürgen Klopp’s first win at the King Power Stadium after three unsuccessful attempts that all ended in defeat by two-goal margins.
For Klopp, however, the win was a deserved one despite many areas for improvement. Moreover, Liverpool showed that the Redmen are still part of the conversation around the top end of the table, moving forward and winning games.
"It is not a time to be completely cool but overall I was happy with our performance. The boys deserved the three points," Klopp said after the game. "The free kick for the first goal was not a free-kick and it was a foul on Simon [for the second goal].
"At the start of the second half we played the same football like Leicester - kinda hectic. Simon saved the penalty and then I think we really deserved the win.
"I really thought in a moment like this so many things are positive. The three points are the proof for the public that we are still here, everything is good. Let's make the next step together."
As for Philippe Coutinho, Klopp had this to say about one of the game’s best players: "Nobody was in doubt about this. It is clear he is the highest quality player. We are happy to have him around."
