A few days ago we wrote about Juventus mulling over a bid for Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.
Here’s the gist of this Can business: Juventus are seeing AC Milan make some big moves in the transfer window (including luring their own Leonardo Bonucci away) and are worried that their dominance in Serie A may soon become less-than-absolute. They noticed that our Emre Can is good at the soccers. They see the Germany international has some real talent. They couldn’t help but observe that he’s in the last year of his contract. And so Juventus logged in to their mobile banking app, saw they had an extra €25 million laying around, and soon the conference room was flooded with Thinking Emojis.
In our post, Noel called shenanigans on the rumours, and understandably so. It’s not being widely reported, Can seems happy here, and Jürgen Klopp has made it clear that Liverpool are not a selling club. So this has to be chum for the gossip pages.
Right?
Riiiiiiight?
Well, don’t look now, but that same source in Italy is suggesting that Can and Juventus have already agreed to personal terms, and that something official could come as soon as Tuesday.
Again, this isn’t being reported anywhere else, and there’s plenty of evidence to suggest that Can really truly isn’t going anywhere.
Still. Maybe it’s time to light some prayer candles. Maybe get in touch with that Wiccan friend of yours and see is she can cook something up for you.
(We love you Emre. Please don’t go.)
