Liverpool are back in action today, once again ramping up the level of competition with Premier League foe Crystal Palace. The Reds struggled last time out against Palace, falling 2-1 at Anfield, thanks to a Christian Benteke brace. It also marked the last time Liverpool tasted defeat in the 2016/17 campaign, though if Jürgen Klopp’s men wish to exact revenge, we’d all prefer it were to be in a match that will really count. Liverpool will have the chance to do exactly that on the second week of the season when they host the London side between the Champions League playoff legs.

Although Kloppo ran out completely changed sides for each half in the first two friendlies, it is reasonable to assume that many players will stay in for longer stretches today as the squad builds toward match fitness. Sadio Mane did not make the trip to Hong Kong as he continues his recovery, but otherwise Liverpool should be able to field a nearly full-strength squad. Depending on results, Liverpool will play either Leicester City or West Bromwich Albion in the next match.
