Over the past few weeks Liverpool have been conducting polls at its website and on social media asking one pressing question— of the 1,601 goals Liverpool have scored in the Premier League, which one is the best?

Fans have voted to rate every goal scored by the Reds over the past 25 years— from Robbie Fowler to Fernando Torres to Daniel Agger to Luis Suárez to Emile Heskey to Lucas.

It’s taken a while, but the club have announced that they have a winner.

With 42% of the vote, the honor for best Liverpool goal in the Premier League era goes to this absolute stunner by Steven Gerrard against Middlesbrough in April, 2005.

I can’t say I disagree with this decision. What an incredible goal.

... and now I’m getting all misty-eyed over Stevie G again. Don’t mind me.
