Will Lucas Moura be the next great winger for Liverpool (to be constantly linked with summer after summer until the End Times)? Almost certainly. For several seasons now the Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder has been linked, no matter how tentatively, to the club.
Approaching the summer transfer window, the 24-year-old Brazilian has been tentatively linked again, this time by the often-inaccurate French publication L’Equipe. Moura is talented enough to raise eyebrows if he's linked to any Premier League club has shown what he can do at France’s capital club.
He has played mostly on the right wing this season, making 50 total appearances for PSG, registering 16 goals and 11 assists in the process. Despite being so integral to the team, the Ligue 1 giants allegedly feel they need to upgrade in his position.
Lucas has two years left on his contract, and it is suggested that he could be pried away from PSG for £30 million. According to L’Equipe Liverpool have approached PSG about his availability this summer.
There are a lot of reasons to discount the accuracy of this report, but Liverpool are in need of wide attackers this summer. The lack of links to a striker suggest that a striker many as two players could arrive in the summer.
Julian Brandt is widely believed to be the top target, but Moura has the ability to be considered as an exciting prospect if these links are to be believed.
