Luis Garcia, fan favorite former Liverpool player and all around smooth operator, had some kind words to say about Adam Lallana.

Lallana’s 2016-17 season was his strongest yet, playing in a midfield alongside Jordan Henderson, Emre Can, and Georginio Wijnaldum. Like many players last season, Lallana fell victim to an injury mid-season that kept him out of the line up for several games. Despite this, he managed to score eight goals in his 35 appearances for the team. His high energy pressing made him a favorite of Klopp’s and provided the impetus for many of the Reds’ most exhilarating performances.

Garcia is excited about what he sees for Lallana in the future.

“We had been waiting for Adam Lallana to explode and now we have seen what an amazing player he is,” he told the official website.

“Like Coutinho, he is a special player who can do everything – from nowhere they can score a brilliant goal or play a brilliant pass. He is good with the right and the left, he is fast and he has got the ability to dribble past players.

“This year we have seen his best, but I think he can continue growing. He is one of those players that in the next couple of years we’re going to see as even more of a top player for the team.”

We’re in the opening days of the summer break, and as interest and intrigue amps up over the transfer window, it will be interesting to see who Klopp and the transfer committee bring in to complement Lallana and Liverpool’s other key players.
