There are many things to worry about ahead of the season-defining final match against already relegated Middlesbrough. Will the hosts convincingly nab all three points? Will the visitors have anything left to play for as they watch the sun set on their Premier League status? Will other clubs cooperate to help Liverpool to the best possible finish?
However, one thing that fans might not have to worry about is listening to the announcer perpetually misprounce Firmino by adding an extra syllable or three. This, of course, is ultimately a concern that Liverpool would rather have. Roberto Firmino has been a vital attacking threat for the Reds this season, and despite getting by fine in his absence last week, we really would rather have his impossibly bright teeth shining on the pitch.
This season, the Brazilian racked up nearly 3000 minutes of Premier League action, bagging 11 goals, providing 6 assists, and winning three penalties along the way. Unfortunately, Firmino did not train with the rest of the squad today, indicating that his inclusion in the season finale is in serious doubt.
With existing injuries to Sadio Mane, and Danny Ings, it means that Liverpool might face the prospect of needing a late goal without established attacking talent to bring off the bench. Please Fowler, let it not come to that.
