With only World Cup qualifiers and international friendlies to sustain Liverpool fans this weekend, the LFC Foundation charity match featuring the Liverpool Legends vs Real Madrid Legends comes at just the right time. The match will be taking place at Anfield, and is something of a return fixture for a similar charity game that the two clubs’ legends played at the Bernabeu back in the summer of 2015. That time, the Real Madrid Legends came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Liverpool Legends 4-2.
Liverpool’s squad does feature plenty of players that fans will be excited to see wearing red again. These include older players such as Ian Rush and John Aldridge, as well as ones who have left more recently: Daniel Agger, Jamie Carragher, and of course, Steven Gerrard. It will also include Steve McManaman and Michael Owen, who will feature for both teams over the course of the game.
On Real Madrid’s side will be legends such as Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo, and Emilio Butragueno.
Kick off: 3pm GMT/11am EST from Anfield
Online Streaming: The game will be streaming on LFCTV Go live and for free. You can access that stream here.
