It’s an international break, there are no games being played, and yet we’re supposed to somehow find it in ourselves to carry on. Luckily, Luis García is on hand to keep us occupied.
The former Red took some time out of his schedule to sit down with the official club website and chat about his former teammates.
I’m beginning to believe that players are using the official club interviews as an avenue to gently poke fun at the people they’re forced to spend time with. García and Robbie Fowler have travelled together a fair bit while promoting Liverpool, so it stands to reason that Fowler got the short end of the stick here.
Here are some of García’s observations:
Funniest: "Pepe Reina, he was always joking around, having a laugh with all the players and he was a funny guy.
Most Talented: "I will say Stevie was probably the most talented, he had everything. Strong, fast, good with the feet and had the passion. If you have a player who has all those, he will become Steven Gerrard.
Best Hair: "I'm not going to say mine, I was always happy with mine, but I will say Milan Baros. He was always there with the band, all the hair spray every game, so yeah I will say Milan Baros.
Worst Hair: “Robbie was already losing some of his hair! We won't tell him, but it didn't look good.
Best Singer: “I will say Crouchie, because it's not that he's got a nice voice, but he was signing all day, so yeah I will say him.
Best Passer: “I will say the pass-master Xabi Alonso, of course.
Best Tackler: “We have to say Jamie Carragher, because he loved it
Best Dressed: “Djibril Cisse, but also I will say Harry Kewell.
Worst Dressed: “I will say Didi Hamann, because he just doesn't care about anything.
Best Dancer: “Djibril Cisse, he had some quite good moves.
Worst Dancer: “Crouch! The robot arrived later, so Peter Crouch.”
With friends like these, etc., etc.
