Every sports fan wants insight into their favorite team’s locker room. It’s the reason why we still tune into interviews with our favorite players even when the spout the sanitized tropes of “giving a 110%” and “doing whatever it takes to help the team.” Every so often they can be a bit fun. Sky Sports Soccer AM has come through with a few lighthearted interviews with normally reserved players and this time sat down with Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet to get the inside scoop on the Reds locker room.

The Joker: Jon Flanagan.

Injuries may have stalled his career since shooting to the limelight as the “Scouse Cafu” a few seasons back, but the local academy product does not appear to have allowed his sense of humor to suffer. “Halloween’s only just past us now,” the ‘keeper said, “So he’ll ask a few of the boys why they keep their masks on.” Marko Grujic is said to get the majority of the ribbing.

Best dancer: Daniel Sturridge

It’s been five years and one can confidently say that no one on Merseyside has quite figured out how to do The Daniel Sturridge dance yet

Superstar DJ: Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané (tie)

Three of the “Fab Four” allegedly dominate the aux cable in the locker room the way they dominate defenses on the pitch, to the point that the Belgian shot stopper “couldn’t remember the last time” he’d had a chance to suggest a tune. Who wouldn’t want to listen to samba and Afropop all day, every day?

Kitman’s Nightmare: Danny Ings

Speaking about the ex-Burnley man, Migs seemed to comment from experience when he claimed that Ings “Doesn’t sit far from me in the locker room and there’s loads of stuff hanging around that doesn’t need to be there really…like clothes he hasn’t used since about three or four months ago.”

Most Likely to Be Fined: Mané and Trent Alexander-Arnold

Don’t worry, it’s mostly due to forgetfulness. All of the players are required to daily document their vitals and the two speedsters are said to be too busy jetting around the grounds to remember. Get it together if you want more starts Trent

Adam Lallana and James Milner took home Teacher’s Pet and Bookworm respectively. And, I mean, yeah we could all see that. Sometimes you don’t have to dig too deep and what you see is what you get.
