There’s lots of narrative surrounding this match to look forward to (or avoid). After yet another disappointing draw earlier in the week, the Reds will be raring to get October off to a better start than September turned out to be. Sadio Mané is back after serving his three match ban, and Liverpool travel east to Tyneside to face Rafa’s Newcastle. Not only is there plenty to chew on involving Liverpool meeting a Rafa Benitez side (including the fact that Daniel Sturridge, a striker he signed, may start!), but midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum will also be facing his former club, and with an away record to improve upon, this may or may not be the match to do it. Expect the “Fab Four” attackers to be starting once again and but lots of nail biting and heart palpitations from the defense. So what else is new on the Red side.
