Liverpool finished 2016 in the best way possible, beating Manchester City, 1-0, at Anfield on Saturday. The victory kept the Reds in second place at the turn of the year, a remarkable accomplishment considering their table position last season.

But with key attacker Sadio Mané preparing to depart for the African Cup of Nations, there is a hint of concern around the side.

Can Liverpool continue their goalscoring pace without the electric winger? Striker Divock Origi thinks the squad can achieve just that in the month of January.

"Unfortunately, Sadio has to go and leave us, but we have a very big and strong squad, which is one of our big qualities,” Origi said. "Whoever plays up front, whatever position, I am sure we can make a very big impact and get the maximum out of every game.”

He concluded: “We are very strong as a group and we are going to show it in the future, I am sure."
