Having advanced to the round of 16 in the EFL Cup, the end is in sight and with it the chance at an early piece of silverware this season. After learning they would host Tottenham yesterday, today Liverpool have learned the date and time for the match: Tuesday, October 25th at 7:45PM.

The match has also been selected as one of the games to be broadcast on Sky, marking it out as one of the major ties of the round and meaning there should be no difficulty in finding it for fans. The other big game of the next round is set to be Manchester City vs. Manchester United, which will be shown by Sky on the Wednesday.

The round’s other pairing of Premier League heavyweights, West Ham and Chelsea, misses out, as does Hull and Bristol City, Newcastle and Preston, Arsenal and Reading, Leeds and Norwich, and Southampton and Sunderland.

The pairing of a number of the remaining bigger clubs this time around means that at least a few lower league sides should make it through to the quarter-finals in November. The EFL Cup then takes a break for December before the remaining teams face a two-legged semi-final in January.
