Liverpool have confirmed that Andre Wisdom has joined Red Bull Salzburg on a season-long loan deal. Wisdom, who can play on the right and in the centre of defence, will presumably try to do enough this season to win a permanent move there or elsewhere.
Red Bull Salzburg are the defending champions in the Austrian Bundesliga and will hope that this signing helps Óscar García defend their title. Last season was one of upheaval as the club went through three head coaches to secure a third successive title. At least Wisdom has joined a team expected to win with the bonus of Europa League football.
It's clear that the player has no future at the club given that he regularly departs on loan, but perhaps he can find his best form and regular minutes at a decent club. The stage and platform is there for him to show that he can adapt as well as play a vital role in side that dominates its division.
