Mamadou Sakho isn't interested in any of the options available to him before the close of the summer transfer window despite being told by Jürgen Klopp that he won't play for Liverpool this season. According to Dominic King of the Daily Mail, Sakho is set to stay at the club beyond the transfer deadline.
The latest was that Beşiktaş made a move for the French international but were rebuffed. It's not like there wasn't interest elsewhere with Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion making moves for the 26-year-old. Sakho didn't want to move to those clubs either, presumably seeking a club of a similar stature to Liverpool or desiring to stay on Merseyside to regain his place. There were rumours that Valencia considered a move, but the Spanish club seem intent on securing Eliaquim Mangala from Manchester City.
Where this leaves Liverpool and Mamadou Sakho is unknown, but with Jürgen Klopp in charge, there can only be one winner in any battle of wills. Maybe there are more surprises in store for later in the day, but as it stands, Sakho will remain a Liverpool player.
