Watch: Carli Lloyd and John Oliver Talk About Being Liverpool Fans

The Women's World Cup winner and British comedian get a chance to talk about the club and what it means to them in some more fun leading up to the USA pre-season tour.

While the lads are busy adjusting to the eight hour time difference and relentless California sun, as well as working in some sightseeing, the club has been hard at work getting Americans ready for the tour as well. They've tracked down two notable faces in the American pop culture scene to promote the matches coming up and the team itself in a couple of great videos.

We all have our lists of favorite famous Liverpool fans (Samuel L. Jackson, anyone?) but it's only recently come to everyone's attention that Women's World Cup Hero Carli Lloyd is a loyal Red. The club recently caught up with Carli as she trains to join the US Women's team to head to the Rio Olympics later this summer and released a video talking with her about why she's a fan, what the team means to her, and who her favorite player is (I'll give you two guesses on that one). As a Houston Dash supporter myself - the NWSL team that Lloyd plays for - I can't deny the feeling of added connection at hearing her talk so warmly about Liverpool.

As a British comedian, John Oliver has been Stateside for quite some time now. With soccer and the Premier League in general gaining in popularity around the States, it's another thing to find out just how passionate about the sport and the club this guy is. Thankfully, the club tracked him down as well and took a bit of time chatting with him about how he became a fan, some of his memorable moments as a fan, and what he thinks of Klopp and the future of the club. There's also another quick video of Oliver talking about why everyone should go to the pre-season matches and it's pretty fantastic.

Liverpool play Chelsea at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA, Wednesday July 27th. Kick off is at 8:30PM PDT/4:30AM BST.
