Two weeks after Liverpool's shocking come-from-behind victory against Dortmund, star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang still can't believe that his side lost. Aubameyang scored in the Anfield return fixture that saw Liverpool beat Dortmund 4-3 thanks to a dramatic Dejan Lovren header in the 91st minute.
About that game, Aubameyang tried to make sense of it, saying, "Even now I can’t believe it. It’s unbelievable. But we knew Liverpool could do this. For sure I think Jürgen Klopp was a factor. When we played in Dortmund, everyone was speaking about him and he knows us. After 3-1 I don’t think we thought ‘okay, now we can keep calm’, but I think we were a little bit too deep in our own half. Normally we’d have done more pressing and it would have been good."
When asked about what Klopp brings to Liverpool, Aubameyang, who played two seasons under the German, declared, "Liverpool have something special. Klopp has brought this energy. They can win every time, and even when they’re losing they can come back. They have something special I think, and they can win the Europa League for sure."
Liverpool have their chance to prove him right on Thursday when they're set to face Villarreal in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final.
