According to the Guardian, Watford are considering a move for both Jordon Ibe and Joe Allen this summer. Both players are reported to be frustrated with their lack of playing time under Jürgen Klopp.
Allen, in particular, begins the last 12 months of his Liverpool contract. No new talks have taken place under Klopp to extend or renew his contract. While Allen has played well in his brief appearances for the club, he may be seen as surplus to requirements come this summer when Klopp has the chance to begin molding the team to his preferences this summer.
It has long been rumored that Allen was unhappy with his position within the team, and he has been open about fighting for his Liverpool future. It seems a great possibility that Joe Allen will no longer be a Liverpool player next season.
Young Jordon Ibe has had a difficult season. Fans had hoped that this would be the year that he broke out and made his mark on the team, similar to Raheem Sterling in seasons past. However, despite the fact that he had plenty of opportunities thanks to Liverpool's injury problems this season, he failed to impress. Now his head could be turned by a promise of more playing time and a more important role at a team like Watford.
This may be another case of transfer rumor connect-the-dots, but it's also a move that would make sense for all three parties involved.
