During Jürgen Klopp’s two campaigns at Liverpool, a series of youth players have made their first-team debuts. One of those to take the jump up is midfielder Cameron Brannagan, who played nine times for the senior team last year.
However, Brannagan has not made a first-team appearance with the Reds this season. That’s led the team to search for a January loan deal, with Bolton one of reportedly many teams open to bringing him in.
But now, a seemingly imminent deal is off the table following a serious training injury for the 20-year-old. He is facing up to a month out of action due to ankle ligament damage, according to The Echo.
Brannagan apparently suffered the setback when he kicked the turf as he went to take a shot in practice. He’ll have to stay with the club through the transfer window to undergo treatment and will reportedly have his long-term future assessed afterward.
