The Merseyside Derby. Two clubs, separated by Stanley Park. Form goes out the window, and any other cliche you’d like to throw out there. Neither side has won at Goodison Park since October 2011, when Liverpool claimed a 2-0 victory over their cross-town foes. Everton haven’t beaten Liverpool on home soil since October 2010, and their 2-0 win that season was the last time the Blues won in the Derby in 12 (and counting) tries. A win would lift the Reds back to 2nd place, six points back of Chelsea, whereas a rare win for the Toffees would allow them to claim sole possession of 7th. But none of that large-scale stuff really matters when city pride is on the line.
