Rodgers Undecided on Preferred Central Defensive Pairing

Lovren was gifted the starting role last season at the expense of Agger and (nearly) Sakho and it took half a season for Rodgers to accept it wasn’t working. Sakho then came in and was better than Lovren had been at any point over the first half of the year. So of course it makes sense that Lovren would be gifted the starting role for the second season in a row because reasons. Or it really, really doesn’t and my brains are dripping out my ear right now. Good times. And you have to think Sakho’s mulling a transfer request if Lovren starts against Stoke. I mean, it’s a Euro year. And those Euros are in France.
