It's July 1st, which can only mean two things: 1) Canada Day, and 2) The transfer window is officially open. Liverpool wasted little time in getting official leaning photos of goalkeeper Adam Bogdan out to the public, along with an interview on the official website.

The club and player came to terms several weeks back, so this is hardly a shock signing, but it is officially official. Bogdan is one of several players coming to the red half of Merseyside on a free, including James Milner and Danny Ings.

Bogdan made 120 appearances for Bolton since joining in 2007. He featured 15 times this season, including the 4th Round FA Cup tie in January at Anfield, where he helped his side secure a clean sheet in the scoreless draw.

Although Bogdan is expected to be the back-up keeper for Simon Mignolet, he stated his desire to push for that #1 roll:

I would like to take this opportunity and play as many games as I possibly can, and be a No.1 'keeper for Liverpool. How do I do that? I have to do it on the training ground first of all, I have to prove myself and prove to the manager that I'm able to do that. Then when I get the chance, I have to take it and play well. That's how it works.

Of the transfers so far, this one might seem like the least exciting. However, he appears to be an upgrade in all areas other than hairstyle from the outgoing Brad Jones, which can only bode well for the team.

From his interview, Bogdan is saying all the right things, and is very happy to join Liverpool, in fact, he says he's, "Over the moon." So, welcome to the team, Adam!

Stay tuned for more transfer news, as Liverpool are expected to announce on Milner and Clyne later today.
