Remember those heady days from last season when Liverpool had just scored on Arsenal and before the celebration died down we put another one into the back of the net? This not-yet-a-transfer-window feels a bit like that.
The Echo and The Express are both reporting that a £12.5m deal--£10.5m with £2m in add-ons--has been accepted by Southampton for Clyne.

Liverpool's pursuit of the player has been well documented to date, and Clyne certainly fulfills an area of major need for the Reds. Even prior to the departure of Glen Johnson, this signing would have been beneficial to the club. Now, there's little doubt that Clyne will slide comfortably in the starting XI.
He should provide a boost to a defense that has been more than a bit suspect in recent years. Clyne's 115 tackles last season led all defenders in the Premier League.
The English right back is currently on vacation, but is expected to sign a 5-year deal upon his return and completion of a medical.
This will be the fourth player making their way from St. Mary's to Anfield in the last two seasons, totaling an impressive £60m.
