Saturday Open Thread: Who Really Cares Anyway Edition

A pretty dire slate of Premier League matches accompanies a handful of other matches to follow around the continent.

There's not much to follow with any sort of interest in the Premier League today, Liverpool included. The early kickoff sees Leicester City and the endlessly endearing Nigel Pearson host Newcastle United, and the day somehow gets worse from there. The 3:00PM BST/10:00AM EST kickoffs are best left alone, once again including Liverpool, while the late start has Manchester United hosting West Brom. It's a wonderful advertisement for the world's greatest professional football league so long as "wonderful" in this context means that it's possible that no more than five goals total will be scored on the day. Loanees in action on the day could include Iago Aspas when Sevilla host Real Madrid, Tiago Ilori as Bordeaux visit Lorient, and maybe Sheyi Ojo (but definitely not Jerome Sinclair because ???) when Wigan face Bradford.
