It goes without saying that a win would be nice today, and that it would certainly enhance the occasion. But today will be all about bringing Steven Gerrard's 17-year Liverpool career to a close in front of the Kop, and an adoring set of supporters who, regardless of generation, won't have witnessed many of his ilk.
